About Mary
The short version...
I’m a movement and mindset coach who loves helping horse and dog enthusiasts improve physical ability, emotional resilience and quality of connection between themselves and their animal companions.
I know first-hand what it's like to live with pain and limitation. I remember when it hurt to ride, hike, run or even sit.
Needless to say, I was often stressed and tired.
With the help of the Feldenkrais Method®, I stopped hurting and started really living. As my body improved, so did my thinking.
I gained confidence and made BIG decisions to create the life I dreamed of.
That's why I'm passionate about helping others feel good too. For over 30 years, I've been teaching people how to feel better than ever. In body and mind.
🐴And showing them how to help their horses, dogs and cats move easier and feel better too.🐶😺
As a Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner and NLP Practitioner, I'm uniquely qualified to help you achieve mastery in your movement AND mindset, so you can live the life you've dreamed of.
As a best-selling, award-winning author and international clinician, I've been a featured presenter at equine and canine conferences, including Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA), Holistic Pet Health, Progressive Hoof Care Practitioners (PHCP), The Feldenkrais Summit and PATH Int'l.
On a personal note...
My husband Gary, our rescue dog Tony 🐶 and I live in a sweet little home near San Diego, California. Fun fact: hubby is a Feldenkrais® Practitioner too!
I had so much fun hiking and running with my bay quarter horse Breeze. You can read about our shenanigans here. Breeze came into my life as a badly abused rescue. We built an incredible bond of trust and connection through R+ liberty play. You can watch another short video of Breeze and me playing here.
Breeze learned how to hold a whip in his mouth and chase me with it in the span of 5 minutes. Yes, he was that smart! Sadly, my beloved Breeze passed away in June 2023. I miss him so much and I'm incredibly grateful for the 18 wonderful years we had together. ❤️🐴

My Philosophy
Helping you and your animals move easier and live happier. Together.
I'm a Certified Feldenkrais® practitioner and the creator of Debono Moves, a gentle, hands-on approach that helps people and their animals—especially horses and dogs—rediscover ease, comfort, and connection.
I work with equestrians and dog lovers who sense something isn't quite right. Maybe there's stiffness or tension in their own body. Maybe their horse feels stuck on one side, or their dog is quietly compensating for discomfort.
And maybe they've tried everything they know to help—but the harder they try, the more frustrated or disconnected they feel.
Here's what I've learned: The real struggle often isn't the stiffness itself. It's the approach.
Most of us have been taught to push through, to fix, to correct. A rider zeroes in on their horse's asymmetry, thinking they need to straighten it out.
A handler notices their dog's hesitation and tries harder to help. These efforts come from love and commitment—but they can unintentionally override the nervous system's natural intelligence.
And that creates more tension, more resistance, and more disconnection on both ends of the lead rope or leash.
If nothing changes, the worst outcome isn't injury or failure—it's the slow erosion of joy. The frustration of feeling like you're not enough. The sadness of losing the lightness that made you fall in love with your animal in the first place.
But there's another way.
When you learn to listen differently—to your own body and to your animal—everything shifts. You discover that change doesn't come from correction or control. It comes from curiosity. From softness. From tapping into the nervous system's potential and allowing transformation to happen through awareness and presence.
The result?
A freer, more balanced body. A horse who moves with confidence and ease. A dog who feels seen, supported, and safe. And a partnership built on trust, responsiveness, and mutual well-being.
This isn't about fixing. It's about discovering new possibilities. Together.
